Classes at The Powerhouse are packed with exercises that will make training very
challenging, fun, and productive.

The mental aspect of martial arts: Through training, we learn far more than a set of self-defense skills. The mental aspect of Karate is highlighted in our training, with a focus on 'goal-setting' and planning for success. Students learn a thing or two about dedication, commitment, self-control, and self-discipline. Our students walk away with a strong sense of confidence, with a high level of mental/physical fitness, and a healthy lifestyle that they will develop through training. Nothing beats the feeling that follows every class that is completed!   

Age-specific” classes will make it easy for us to offer the level of training that is suitable for different age groups, to make sure nobody is pressured to try to catch up with older kids!    

A Unique Training System: Traditional Karate training - in Shotokan style - is a well-designed training system, but it may be too much for very young children. So, over the years, we have developed a number of exercises and routines in-house, with the capabilities of different age groups in mind.     

Different reasons to train: People take up Karate for different reasons. Some are looking for an alternative to the gym, simply taking it on as something that could replace the gym,  an exciting way of training, simply for overall fitness. Some are interested in the self-defense aspect of Karate, which is very challenging, and some may be interested in developing a healthy lifestyle around their training.. What is your reason, for looking into Karate?

The best way to test and see if you like what we do, before signing up for regular training,  is to simply come in and train with us. Our Trial Programs make this easy. (See our current trial promotions posted on the site) 

During your trial classes, you will have a chance to meet your instructors, you will complete a few classes, and get a feel for the classes and the dojo's training environment
