Classes at The Powerhouse are packed with endless challenging skills that will make training challenging, fun, and productive.
The mental aspect of martial arts: Through training, we learn far more than a set of self-defense skills. We learn and apply 'goal-setting' in our training, and will learn how to 'plan' for success in life. Our students will learn about dedication, commitment, and self-discipline. With our training under their belt students live their lives with so much more self-confidence, setting themselves up for success in every aspect of their life
Age-specific” classes will make it easy for us to offer proper placement, which is important. We keep every student's age and fitness level in mind when it comes to placement, and the content we cover in each class
A Unique Training System: Shotokan is a well-designed training system, but it may not work well for young children. Over the years we have developed a number of skill sets and exercises that works very well for children, keeping the capabilities of children at different ages in mind.
Different reasons to train: People look into martial arts training for different reasons. Some are looking for an alternative to the gym, and use our classes to get and stay fit. Some appreciate the self-defense aspect of our training. And some may be interested in finding a new way of life, transforming their lifestyle, and set black belt as a goal.
Our curriculum is designed to cover a combination of all different aspects of our training; Specifically, self-improvement, self defense, and overall fitness
The best way to get a feel for our classes:
